Different Blend of Experiences: 2009

Just before my girlfriend leave for a 4D/3N stay in Thailand we planned on treating ourselves a 3D spectacle. We watched Up in 3D at greenbelt 3 cinemas. This was my first 3D experience and I am quite excited with that.

For a P300 worth of ticket both of us were really satisfied. The animation is done pretty well and the story is great. A funny and mostly touching story between an old man and a young boy along with their house hoisted up by thousands of balloons. Plus a giant bird which the boy named Kevin, talking dogs and a lost-explorer (the main antagonist).

A great treat for everybody, it's a guarantee. A must see movie with great animation and story. It's a perfect rating for me, 10/10.

First summer namin ng baby ko so we decided to get some place na mejo malapit lang since hindi namin masyado napag-planuhan beforehand. So, how we found out about Lagos del Sol http://www.lagosdelsolresort.com/ is I'm not so sure nor remember basta sa internet lang yun malamang and it's near manila lang so we booked for 2 over the weekend.

It's a bus ride from taft, in one of the bus stations there and probably about more than an hour of travel before we arrived in Laguna. We rode a jeep to another jeepney station na dadaan daw sa Lagos del Sol so sakay lang kami. Mejo matagal din nagpuno yung jeep almost an hour din yata and mainit pa that time. Tiyaga (patience) lang kami hanggang sa go na yung jeep. Mejo malayo din yung biyahe pero nice yung breeze (nung wala na kami sa town proper) kasi kahit mataas ang sikat ng araw that time hindi mainit ang simoy nung hangin. Fresh kumbaga kasi mountain naman yung trail eh so walang pollution not like in manila na kapag pinawisan ka manlalagkit ka talaga. We passed along lake Caliraya so it means malapit na yung Lagos del Sol. Nadaanan din namin yung Caliraya Recreation Center na nalaman namin na sikat siya na puntahan ng mga nag wi-wind-sail yata. Ayan finally dumating na din kami sa wakas.

It's a long trail papunta sa reception area nila and mabato. Yung lupa is medyo clay yata kasi medyo orange yung kulay niya. But it's a nice long trail na puro puno and grass sa gilid ng trail. So here we are at the reception area, we get our key to the room and off we go. Hindi na namin nakuhaan yung room mismo pero here is a shot of the pool just in front of the reception area and the stairway papunta sa room namin.

About the room, ayos naman, malinis yung room although medyo parang hindi lang ganun ka-maintained. Isang bagay pa pala, kami lang yata ang check-in guest nila that day, we assumed, kasi the whole place is dark nung kinagabihan. Well, okay lang, habol lang naman namin eh makapag-relax at makapag-spend ng quality time together so that we have achieved. Dinner time, so we have decided to have it in our room so we shared over a whole piece of tilapia and a cup of rice each. What can I say about the food? It's awesome! Grabe ang sarap ng pagkaka-grill sa isda. We can't get enough of it at simot hanggang tinik. hehe. Busog pero parang bitin pa nga yata eh kasi masarap talaga but it's bed time already and we're tired so sleeping time na.

2nd day of vacation is all about touring around some municipalities and benchmarks near the resort. First stop is the Paete church of course in Paete, famous for their woodcarvings. It was an old and historic church. Inside were lots of carvings of different religious catholic personalities such as Jesus, Mary, the angels and saints. The only thing I got disappointed though is yung nadikit yung church sa mga bahay as in nakadikit talaga at meron pang stage sa harap yata yun. I know masikip na yung area kaya baka wala nang mapaglagyan yung mga bahay pero it shouldn't be beside or somewhere very near the church kasi nawawala yung essence at ganda ng church.

Next stop is the Exotik Restaurant. Food served here are mostly exotic, hence the name of the place itself implies. We decided to try adobong palaka and ginataang kuhol. I never had tried an exotic food before so this is something new for me. Like what others are saying, frog just tastes like chicken and they're absolutely right, it tastes like chicken. The ginataang kuhol taste good too.

After we finished our food we went around the place to take some pictures. We really took our chance in exploring the whole place since its open to the public for such endeavor. Exotik Restaurant is a great place to eat out and basically terrific.

It's our 3rd and last day and this whole morning is all about swimming and taking pictures around the resort. In fairness to the resort, it's a great selection for recreational trips, team bondings or if you just want to relax and have a moment with yourself or your loved one. The place is so serene and quiet. Hindi ko lang sure kung ano ang feel ng place kapag madaming tao. Hindi lang siguro namin gaano na-enjoy yung place kasi we haven't tried the recreational activities they has to offer like ung wind sailing, jet skiing, and yung boat ride along lake Caliraya.
